Press Release November 25, 2020:

CGLT Receives Leicester Land Donation

The Town of Leicester voters, at their Spring Town Meeting, voted to transfer a town-owned parcel
of land bordering Greenville Pond and River Street, to Common Ground Land Trust.

The transfer is now complete and CGLT will seek to maintain the parcel as an area for public use and recreation on Greenville Pond.

Anticipated uses include a picnic area, small boat launch for canoeing and kayaking, fishing and ice skating.

CGLT will also work with the Town of Leicester for grants to clear the pond of the invasive water chestnut plant that is filling the pond..

CGLT is looking for volunteers and members to assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the property, and donations to cover the cost of maintenance.  For more information, contact CGLT at info@commongroundlt.org.
